FREE YOURSELF

“Happy is the (wo)man who has broken the chains which hurt the mind, and has given up worrying once and for all.”    -Ovid

On the occasion of my birthday (smiles), I just wanted to share this message with you in hopes that you will free yourself and break the chains in your mind that hold you back from living your life to the fullest!

And thank you for your ongoing support of the site! I could ask for no greater gift.

LIGHT OF THE SUN

This photo really spoke to me this morning… I woke up feeling the light of the sun and felt just like a sunflower :) I have so much to be thankful for in this life and can only hope that I am able to reflect even a bit of the light I receive!

Life is soooooo good :)

DAY OF THE MOON

To celebrate the perfect universal alignment (Sun, Earth, Moon in a perfect line) represented by the Lunar Eclipse today, I’m dedicating this post to all of the Moon children! Since Selena comes from Selene — the Greek Goddess of the Moon, I have a double celebration on these days :)

As you gaze at the sky today, be sure to look out for the “Selenelion” …which is when the Sun and the Eclipsed Moon can be observed at the same time…usually just before sunset or just after sunrise along the horizon.

Wishing you a beautiful day! :)

START AGAIN

“Sometimes we need a place…to start….to start again…”

It rarely happens that I am exposed to a beautiful new tune on the radio. However, today it happened! Love this one…

GIVE YOURSELF TO THE MOMENT

The Master gives himself up
to whatever the moment brings.
He knows that he is going to die,
and he has nothing left to hold on to:
no illusions in his mind,
no resistances in his body.
He doesn’t think about his actions;
they flow from the core of his being.
He holds nothing back from life;
therefore he is ready for death,
as a man is ready for sleep
after a good day’s work.

From the Tao te Ching (50) by Lao Tzu

FIND YOUR PATH

While outside today, I overheard two ladies discussing their fear of taking big risks. And later, I heard another discussion of whether one’s fate is the result of effort or destiny.

The two discussions caused me to consider my beliefs. While I believe in universal forces outside of our control, I think our choices play a part in our destiny. If we chose to ignore our true passions, we may live feeling a sense of regret that never really goes away…until we do something about it. When we do, the universe often lines things up for us in a way that we could not have imagined.

The only way to discover your path is to take the risk to walk into unknown territory. And then keep walking. You will eventually find your road. After all, if your path was obvious, the fun of discovering one’s purpose would be lost!

Besides, if it doesn’t work out, you can always begin again :)

CHANGE ROOMS IN YOUR MIND

Leave the familiar for a while.

Let your senses and bodies stretch out

Like a welcomed season

Onto the meadow and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.

Make a new watermark on your excitement

And love.

Like a blooming night flower,

Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness

And giving

Upon our intimate assembly.

Change rooms in your mind for a day.

All the hemispheres in existence

Lie beside an equator

In your heart.

Greet Yourself

In your thousand other forms

As you mount the hidden tide and travel

Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven

Are sitting around a fire

Chatting

While stitching themselves together

Into the Great Circle inside of

You.

IT FELT LOVE

 How

Did the rose

Ever open its heart

And give to this world

All its

Beauty?

It felt the encouragement of light

Against its

Being,

Otherwise,

We all remain

Too

Frightened.
