It is time for me to again say Thank You for your kind and generous support of the site! Just in time for Back to School, we are going to do something a little different this month…your donations are going to be used to Help A Teen continue attending college!
I had the pleasure of meeting a delightful young teen named Toriana Ponder during a recent visit to LA to see her longtime mentor (who is a dear friend of mine). Toriana is working to raise funds to stay in college, and we are happy to help her goals by contributing your donations for this month to her cause! Every little bit helps and we hope the $100 donated will assist her in her college endeavors.
Here’s her Crowdfunding site for more details: http://www.gofundme.com/3z6cy8
Thank you for your generous support…we can all make a difference!
Love and light,
I find it worth mentioning that when I set out to find the perfect picture for the post, I planned on going the more traditional jigsaw puzzle route ha But I’ve recently been on this kick about words…the power words have to influence us in so many ways, and the incredible power that comes from dropping all words (more on that later :) that I decided this Scrabble pic was pretty brilliant :)
For now, I am inspired to explore the idea of perfection. What does it mean to be perfect anyway?
Quite simply, I believe it means to be yourself. Trying to be someone you are not is a waste of the person you are.
As I was recently telling a friend, I do not believe that our Creator makes mistakes. This understanding allows you to love yourself as you are…and to love others as they are too!
So then our goal becomes something like this: to see through all of the illusion telling us that we are not or can not….dare to dream big…and believe in magic. We are only limited by our own beliefs. You are perfect as you are. And there is nothing that you cannot do.
Now all that is left is to ignore the critics (which may also be in your mind) and go do it ;)

After I titled my last post (rain love), I had an automatic reaction to create this one :)
As it sometimes happens, I had the title and many ideas, but wanted to find an image to pull it all together. I found this piece from the “Pencil vs Camera” collection to be exceptionally brilliant. Here’s why…
There are so many different story lines that can be created from this one image. (It reminds me of a puzzle I loved to solve as a child in Highlights magazine that challenged you to find images within a broader photo.)
Within this image, I was immediately struck by the mermaid. To me it is as if she’s trying to give her love to one who is too focused perhaps on doing what he loves to notice. However, she has not gone unnoticed by others…but she’s too focused on the object of her affection to see it.
And then there is the boy in the boat who looks very sad among the coals. It’s as if he’s stuck in a job he hates and would rather be doing anything else. (The other guys in the picture appear to be in chill mode to me. ha)
The message for me is one of balance … it is both good to do what you love and right to share your love and wonderful when you can live a life that includes both. When your vision is too narrow, you miss the bigger picture.
What we may sacrifice today for love or wealth, we may not be able to get back tomorrow.

What keeps us alive, what allows us to endure?
I think it is the hope of loving,
or being loved.
I heard a fable once about the sun going on a journey
to find its source, and how the moon wept
without her lover’s
warm gaze.
We weep when light does not reach our hearts. We wither
like fields if someone close
does not rain their
kindness
upon
us.

p.s. LOVE this vivian green tune :)
A martial arts student approached his teacher with a question: “I’d like to improve my knowledge of the martial arts. In addition to learning from you, I’d like to study with another teacher in order to learn another style. What do you think of this idea?”
“The hunter who chases two rabbits,” answered the master, “catches neither one.”
